About Us

The With Eagles Wings Tobacco Prevention Project and the Fremont Tobacco Free Wyoming Communities of Excellence Program of Fremont County, Wyoming, have common goals to enhance awareness of the dangers associated with the use of tobacco, whether through smoking or other methods such as using smokeless tobacco. In Wyoming, the rate of smokeless tobacco use is one of the highest in the nation. Second hand smoke is the third leading cause of preventable death in America. Their goals in the community is to provide education and to bring innovative ways to assist people in their quest for better health. This is the core purpose of these programs, a not-for-profit, community system serving Fremont County and the Wind River Indian Reservation. These programs reach out to the adolescent as well as to the adults, to advocate the need for tobacco harm awareness. This website also address the separation of traditional use of tobacco versus the usage of commercial tobacco among Native Americans.
